Pa Kola is the wise and quirky grandpa of the Groundnuts Family. With a twinkle in his eye and a playful sense of humor, he loves sharing stories filled with Bible lessons. His unique perspective on life makes him a beloved figure, always ready with a funny quip or a valuable piece of advice. Pa Kola believes that laughter is a gift from God and uses it to teach important lessons in a memorable way.
Ma Hazel is the heart of the Groundnuts family, a loving and kind grandmother who nurtures everyone around her. With her warm smile and gentle spirit, she provides comfort and wisdom to her family and friends. Ma Hazel enjoys baking delicious treats and creating a cozy home where everyone feels welcomed. Her faith is a guiding light, and she often shares stories that highlight the importance of love and compassion.
Coco is the sassy and real granddaughter of the Groundnuts family. With her quick wit and bold personality, she isn’t afraid to speak her mind. Coco brings a fresh perspective to discussions, often challenging the status quo while keeping things lively and fun. Her confidence and humor encourage her family to be authentic and true to themselves, making her a powerful voice in their adventures together.
Cash (or Chu-Chu) is the curious grandson who is always eager to learn and explore. With his adventurous spirit and a mind full of questions, he embodies the excitement of discovery. Cash is fascinated by the world around him and often seeks to uncover the deeper meanings behind the Bible stories they explore. His enthusiasm inspires others to embrace their own curiosity and seek a closer relationship with God.
Meet the Creators
Grace and Hope (yes, those are their real names) are Nigerian-American sisters who created the Groundnuts Family to share their love of Christ and the Bible in a relatable way that resonates with children and families. Grace has an extensive background in education. Hope has spent several years in communications. Together, they use their talents to create engaging content that makes biblical truths accessible and enjoyable.
The puppets help keep the legacy of their father, a devoted pastor and man of faith, alive in a way that showcases his vibrant personality (through Pa Kola). Their mother is the inspiration for Ma Hazel. Driven by a desire to instill strong values and faith into the next generation, Grace and Hope strive to provide programming that’s not only fun but also rooted in truth, love and biblical wisdom.
